A: The airport master plan is customized to the unique needs of CYS, with specific objectives established as focal points for the planning process. Defining key objectives was a collaborative effort involving Cheyenne Regional Airport Board, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Wyoming Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division (WYDOT Aeronautics), and the consultant team. The key objectives of the master plan include:
• Creation of an updated Airport Layout Plan (ALP) drawing set, featuring various sheets that illustrate both existing and future conditions of the Airport and surrounding airspace.
• Development of updated aviation activity forecasts and an anticipated aircraft fleet mix for the 20-year planning period.
• Formulation of a comprehensive, realistic development plan, including timelines for
improvements and capital cost estimates in current dollars.
• Evaluation of the airport’s existing airfield pavement, along with a strategy for when
corrective actions are needed and how to maintain a safe operating environment.
